Just bought my daughter a boost buggy, came with Tazer 15t fwd/reverse ESC and 20T brushed Dynamite motor. Looking to upgrade to a brushless sensored 17.5, Blinky class spec approved motor combo. Before I make the purchase, trying to verify the can size of the motor. Is it a 540 can size, right?
Also, I attached the combo I am looking to upgrade to. Any info from you guys would be awesome.

And here is a pic of the awesome buy I got used off of eBay. I will be upgrading it to the max for what is aloud per say.
This will be ran at 2 different club races this summer if the classes cross over.

Hi, yep the stock motor is a 540 and the hobbyking motor will fit just fine. The ESC might be a little tight, maybe check the dimension to make sure it will fit were you want to put it. If your planing on just running 17.5 blinky class you might be able to get away with a 60amp esc. Cool car, good luck. keep us posted.

With a 17.5T motor you'll need to replace the stock 87t spur with something smaller. For Stock Buggy racing a 69t spur with a 31-33t pinion is fairly typical. In my experience the motor simply could not be moved close enough to allow proper mesh with a 69t spur. A 72t spur worked nicely with a 33t pinion. You can easily adapt Associated spur gears to fit the ECX input shaft. Here's s write-up of the procedure. Once you have the parts it takes about 5 minutes. https://ecxforum.com/threads/what-spur-gears-compatible-with-ecx-2wd-cars.348/#post-3619

Still working on this one.....patience. I should have all updates here very soon. Race day is close, a few more weeks and this project should be complete. Enjoy with the teaser

Well, I hope everyone has had some patience on this build. I have my first video released on You Tube for the front suspension conversion to B4.2. It's a little rough around the edges, but it gets the job done. I should be doing a 3 part to the suspension build on You Tube. Front, Rear, and overall adjustments. Anything I am missing, let me know. Thanks for the support....this site has helped a lot.

Again, I will do a complete new post on the boost, just wanted to release a little something.

Would the b4.2 front hinge pin holder (front bulk head) work with the rest of the stock ecx suspension? Mainly the a arms. Keep breaking mine, someone brought that same one up in another post, but haven't seen it used with the ecx a arms. I know you need to drill 2 holes for the bumper.

You would have to trim the inside of your stock arm a little bit. If you get the plastic bulkhead, you could trim that otherwise. Hope this helps.

I had to post a teaser!!! I think I finally found the modification for the Boost rear suspension. Cross your fingers that this works. I will be running it in a few weeks for testing it out. I will post the how-to once I tested it. Thanks

Better droop in the rear.....

Picture was taken before adding the Team Associated rear 12mm big bore shocks.

My tuning video has the shocks in there.

Also, I will be running at the track this upcoming weekend again with ALL final adjustments.

Enjoy

Now......to seeing what we can upgrade some more ?
