So I stripped out my differential [GALLERY=media, 443]Stripped differential by tastyville posted Jun 21, 2018 at 9:27 PM[/GALLERY]No, it's not the slipper clutch or the metal gears inside or the spur or pinion gears. Inside the transmission case were about a hundred metal shavings [GALLERY=media, 442]Stripped differential 2 by tastyville posted Jun 21, 2018 at 9:27 PM[/GALLERY]

I bought my truck used. I had run it about a dozen times before this happened. I'd never oiled anything. I got a few questions:
  • Is this a common failure for ECX AMPs?
  • I was suspicious of the transmission case at first. Is the gear case prone to failure like twisting or crushing to cause rubbing on gears?
  • Would it be worth replacing the stock gears with a metal set?
  • If the metal set is prone to failure, should I just replace with a stock set and try to seal the trans case?
  • Also, does anyone have any aftermarket recommendations?
Thanks, in advance

Also added 30k silicon diff oil and red bearing grease to gear mesh in trans. Power is down while heat is up from 90F to 200F! I’m working on blowing out my motor here pretty soon.
