Why why why

I watched someone who looked professional, do a water break-in, 20 mins completely submerged in water,
with 2 d-cell batteries hooked to it. Amazing, but alas.. I too, have been stung by the wicked brushless motor bee
and I think I have been advised to purchase a $70. esc and motor combo( seems middle of the road pricewise); we'll
see how it goes. Love the size of these trucks and style, i'm gonna keep trying.

I love my brushless Ruckus. And since I replaced some stock pieces with RPM, and MIP driveshafts, I love it more and more. Actually brushed motors are crap, in the past century a good brushed motor was as expensive as an actual brushless one, but nowadays are imposible to find.
Weak points for me:
- driveshafts (MIP 08123)
- front hubs and shoulder screws (RPM rear hubs turned 90º solved the problem so far, without aluminum)
- bearings
- servo and servo saver
- transmission gears (brushed stock, with a rigth tuned slipper some people runs brushless systems with plastic gear, mine are metal ones, stock brushless)
I've also changed steering and suspension turnbuckles, rear and front arms (didn't break, but I assured liability) and 98% of phillips screws ( I prefer hex/allen screws).
If you want to invest in aluminum, my piece of advice is to look at pictures of 1/8 competition buggies, and try to imitate the metal pieces that they mount. I bet you all my RC's that you wont see a single aluminum A-arm...
Hope it helps, excuse my english, typing from Spain.

We all forget the ecx brand is an entry level rc, don’t get me wrong, they are tough as nails imo. Some weak points here n there but a lot of fun.
Maybe the problem is you, no offense intended, maybe your asking the truck more that what is designed for...
I maintain 5 ruckus and 3 torments all converted to brushless in my neighborhood, they will break something here n there but for the money they r great.
The pics are from my ruckus, check out the upgrades maybe that will help

First of all, don't wanna sound rude.
You'd better tell us what's into your ride, ESC, motor, battery type, spur, pinion, wheels and tires, etc...
And then maybe we can give you a way to solve your heating troubles.
Cheers.
EDIT: Excuse me if my English isn't good enough, I'm from Spain.
