looking for advice to help with traction on my 2wd brushed torment truck. i was running on hard pack dirt, slightly wetted down and fairly smooth. im new to this and was wondering if different tires would be better than the stock originals. thank you. adam

Yes it will help with traction. The stock tires are way too hard to dig in de ground and get the grip you need. A softer compound tire will help a lot.

Try a medium m2 compound from proline they are all terrain tires and last a long time.

If the track is usually wetted down, isn’t let to dry and really packed down you could try a super soft clay compound. However super soft will be destroyed if the wheels are constantly spinning out but my ecx torment has proline positrons and I run on hard packed wet clay and they haven’t even shown a bit of wear.
Also don’t let them touch cement, asphalt, wood, or carpet.

Or try messing with roll center try to make the camber links as long as possible by moving the mounts to the outside holes doing this will increase chassis roll and improve corner grip.

(Add 1-2° positive camber on the rear wheels I found it makes the car exit corners better on throttle??)

It depends on what you are running on I don’t want to recommend super-soft positrons and not know you want to drive on cement and shread them.

What terrain do you run on?

ill use the stocks on the asphalt, but its sometimes loose dirt and then this weekend it was rolled and compacted and slightly wet. it was a very slick track qnd with all the rain we have had here in pa lately i think its gonna stay that way for a while

For loose dirt try proline badlands they’ll have plenty of grip(y) they last a long time and look cool.

For packed moist clay with little to no stones try proline soft–supersoft compounds, I can’t really recommend any specific tread type of those tires because every racer has their own preference of tread type and stuff. I personally like the positrons.

Ask around and see what other people running in your class are using would probably give you the best results.

I use the duratrax tires (I can't find the name of it). They are verry soft and grip the dirt and sand much better then the stock tires (2,8").
