Waterproofing a receiver

I just got a FlySky Gt2b for my Brushless ECX amp, but the receiver is not waterproof. I have heard of wrapping the receiver in a balloon, dipping it in Plastidip, putting conformal coating on it, but I want the BEST way and a PRETTY CHEAP way of making it waterproof.
I am thinking of putting it in a balloon, but does anyone have any other ideas of how they made it waterproof? And are there any reasons or CONS to why I should not put it in a balloon or in plasti dip? I like to wash down my AMP with a hose, so any tips would be appreciated

I used silicone conformal coating on the green board and dialectic grease on the pin connectors. The balloon trick is fine, just harder to get to if you plan on adding anything to your receiver (a fan or bec) , and might make mounting little tricky. But it is a good way to do it. There also is urethane conformal coating, which is even stronger than the silicone based one, if you go that route. The little 15 dollar bottle will last a long time, don't let it's little size deter you from buying it. I personally haven't had the best of luck with plastidip, water worked it's way in down the wires on me.

For a bit cheaper, I think I’m just gonna get a Traxxas receiver box, do you know if these Traxxas reciever boxes are universal? Also, any tips for getting a receiver box?
PS- what’s the difference between using a receiver box and coating the receiver in conformal coating?

I've got an axial receiver box, similar to the traxxas one, they are big but will fit. Only down side is they aren't 100% water proof. For usual hosing down it's fine, but submerge them and water will get in. Wouldn't be a bad idea to conformal coat it even in the receiver box.

Alright, since I’m probably just gonna use water to rinse down the truck, I will just get a receiver box. I might get conformal coating when winter comes, so I could run in snow, do you think the receiver box will last through snow?
