Can anyone tell me what this part is called so I can buy a replacement?

IMG_4294.jpg IMG_4295.jpg IMG_4297.jpg My ECX amp's back wheel-shaft-thingy-whatever it's called started slipping out. I could pop it back in but it would keep falling out again.
Upon closer inspection, I see (as pictures) that the thing-the-metal-tube-thing pops into has completely been annihilated and needs a replacement. Does anyone know what it's called so I can buy a replacement for it??

Thanks in advance (and sorry for my awful description lol)

You can see it clearest in the first image, sorry if it is unclear. I can add a few more closer photos if it's difficult to see what I'm talking about.

I don’t know exacly what it is but hinge pin brace is probably the closest name I have for it. It would be really helpful if anyone knows about an aluminum one.

ECX1092 holds the rear hinge pins, and mine broke a bit. Now one of the pins comes out on hard jumps. Has anyone found a fix or an upgrade?

Cheers,
MP

Seems like this is the same problem with the steering knuckles not enough thread to have a solid hold in the knuckle in this case not enough length in the suspension pin to go far enough in to have a solid hold in the rear mount. No upgrade that I know of.

Thanks for the reply 'bama ;)

I'm going to take a look at using a very small washer around the hole to reinforce it, and will use screws that have larger heads for the ones that are meant to hold the pin in place. This is the downside of having RCs that are not well supported in terms of aftermarket upgrades. Everyone loves to hate on Traxxas, but you can find an upgrade for every single part on the truck. And now ECX has this only in brick and mortar shops hassle going on. It's a shame, really. I love the Amp but I will not buy another ECX RC, and can no longer recommend them to buddies.

Just an update:

The RPM rear arms for the Circuit specifically mention strengthening the hinge pins in the description on the RPM website here. I'm gonna give these a try, along with some kind of reinforcement around the hole in the stock suspension mount and screws with larger heads.

From the RPM site:
"We added huge bosses around the hinge pins as well, reducing the possibility that a big hit will stretch the hinge pin holes. We removed the tiny outer hinge pin locking screw as well, in favor of an in-line retaining screw. This helps improve overall A-arm strength while keeping the outer hinge pin locked solidly in place."

Fingers crossed.

Yeah BIG Bama fan so.....

But yeah part sources are drying up my source for parts is online no LHS near me. I like my ECX stuff but if parts are only going to be found few and far between I can't recommend ECX to anybody either even if they have a LHS near them. Online is where the future is to me and taking that away does not make sense to me support your LHS is great if you have one near you. Maybe some will expand there business to online sales also. Stupid to me I can order my Traxxas stuff from Horizon but not ECX but I digress. Yeah hate Traxxas but at least you can get parts just about every where even from Horizon and upgrades for just about everything.

Hi. I am very sorry for replying to an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one. I keep having the same issue with my Amp ECX and
it is really hard to get it to pop in so end of taking all the chassis screws out and forcing it in. Both sides are popping out regularly now.

Has anyone found a fix for this. I think I need to buy the ECX1092 part to replace what I have but it may just do it again.

Any help is very much appreciated – thanks!

Hi. Thanks for the message. Yes that's right. Do I need to order new arms (RPM?} as well as the ECX1092 part?

Thanks so much

Have a look at the RPM part description on their website. I think it mentions that the pins are more secure with their arms. I got the new replacement mount ECX part and RPM arms and have not lost a pin since.

Sorry for the late response - I just wanted to let you know those parts worked brilliantly. Thank you so much for all the help!

So I don't know how mechanically inclined you are, but you can use the traxxas screw type hinge pins. I did this on my Torment, it will take some drilling of your Amp replacement parts, or you can use your old part that is worn out. You just have to be sure the drilled holes are the same size as the hing pin. If you make it to big you will have a lot of slop. I recommend doing this on a drill press, how ever you can use a hand drill if you have a steady hand and a vice. Its a whole lot of fun upgrading and re engineering these RC vehicles.
