Hello,

I'm new to the ECX Forum, but I have been involved in RC-ing for at least 20 years. Does anyone know the lengths of the front and rear shocks for a 4WD Torment? My son bent a front shock and instead of going back to the stock shocks I want to up grade the shocks. I bought a pair of Hot Racing front shocks off of E-Bay and they are to short, even though the ad said it would fit a 4WD Torment. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Are you able to measure from center of eye to center of eye? I would use a caliper, but an metric tape measure works too. I don't own a 4x4 torment.
When you say too short, what do you mean? Like are they slightly shorter then stock? If so, a lower center of gravity or ride height is not going to make it worse. It will handle better.
Pictures help, if your able to do so.

Thank you for your reply, and I agree a lower center of gravity will make the vehicle handle better. But in this case the truck handled great with the stock length front shocks, and the replacement I bought lowered the front way to low to the point it would bottom out way to much. I tried adjusting the rear shocks to help, but no such luck. I was being lazy in not having to purchase a caliper to take the measurement. LOL!

Sounds like you bought front shocks for the 2wd models. On the 2wd the shocks on the front are shorter than the ones on the rear. On the 4wd the shocks have the same part number so they are the same front and rear. The rear shocks of the 2wd look to be the same (or close) to the ones (in length) on the 4wd.

What was the part number of the shocks you bought?
