Got my daughter the AMP and have been upgrading as parts break. Which seems like every time we take it out lol. Last time out was with the new metal driveshafts and it rounded off the wheel hex.
Has a Hobbywing 1060 and a Holmes Hobby 550 12t Trailmaster Sport running 3s. Just picked up new metal hex's for the rear and will install after work tonight so we can see what breaks next. After hers is set up good I'll be buying one for myself and just upgrading from the start lol

3S is a lot for this thing. I’m on the stock motor and 2s and it’s good. I just picked up a new motor from a guy who got a brushed boat and went brushless. 550 15 turn. I’ll have to see what the temps look like and gear it. You running the stock pinion and spur?

I presume you have or will soon go to the metal diff and gear set. With the power you are running you might as well go brushless.

Hello ClubCab, the Amp is a great truck to upgrade. I have the first generation Amp and it's upgraded to the max plus Led lights for night running. It also has high velocity fans to keep the brushless motor, ESC and 7 amp battery cool. Some upgrades I made myself. I also have two Amp Crushs which I'm in the process of upgrading. I've done a lot of suspension work and can now get these two trucks to corner without flipping at 35 mph. Out of the 36 RC's I have, i have to say my Amps are my favorites. As you can see the lights and fans run on their own separate batteries, leaving the main 7000 mAh 3S battery just for the truck. Its amazing what you can do with these trucks. When I retired, I'm a machinist i wanted a hobby so i pick RC'ing. The Amp was my first RC truck. Its great to see that your daughter is interested in the Hobby. I'm always repairing RC's for the kids and enjoy every minute doing it. The kid love the Hobby and I love helping them out. Happy RC'ing.

If I wanted to go Brushless I would have already. Its not really needed. Also no need to upgrade gears yet either. New set of Metal axle shafts arrived today as the last set of Metal shafts broke in less than 30seconds.

The black ones are the metal ones that broke rite away. The silver ones I have faith in as its the same design driveshafts in one of my crawlers. Their Stainless. Wheelie bar and aluminum suspension parts will be next.

I have 2 sets of those silver ones. Running badland mx28s one on, 2.8 trenchers on the other, both brushless, one a 3300kv 6 pole I run only on 3s, guess what I'm getting at is they take alot of abuse. Been almost 2 years with them, definitely getting sloppy, but still taking the abuse.

that's good to hear. I installed them a couple nights ago but I'm working an 8 day stretch so we will be taking it for a test Thursday. Id rather she get to drive it and brake it then me.

Hope the wheel he's hold out also. Installed some DE wheels
Do they allow full suspension travel? My hot racing dogbone driveshafts dont allow full suspension travel with taller tires. and also, how have they held up?
