    Temper Gen 2....teaser/review

I hope it's faster out of the box than the original one was!

New motor, 4WS, loud, new rims, tires! (My build log)

Buy some threaded rod and make your own links. I made all my links for my D90 build.

    Aftermarket Driveshafts

I like these Metal Ones on Ebay Long story. I was building a D90 from scratch (Chinese parts) and needed some very short and scale looking driveshafts. So I used a pair I had left over from my Temper. They fit perfect and looked great. Until I busted them. So I replaced them with these metal...

    Lights on ECX temper? 1/18

Yup, used a splitter Y servo cable to power them and shared it off the steering port.

    Aftermarket HD Driveshafts?

Do those shafts extend? They look solid. Not sure that would work in the temper. The shafts (the part that sticks out of the axle and tranny) are the same size as Axial and all the other ones (5mm I believe) So most driveshafts should fit. I'd look at the short metal ones on Ebay.

    Ladder frame

You realize that a Ladder Framed Temper is a Barrage right :) That's basically it. But yeah, I made one. Took an Integy frame, some SCX10 hoops, Barrage skidplate and moved all my stuff over and made the Orange Truck. World of difference. But it's a different vehicle. You lose all the Flex but...

    Slight stutter in reverse

    Wait, the motor??? That's wild!

    Slight stutter in reverse

Try a few things for me. Flip it over and put it in reverse. With it running, one at a time press the axles, does the sound go away or change, does the stuttering stop, get better, get worse? If it's not the motor itself it could be a couple things. It could be the angle of the axles and the...

    My ECX Temper thus far

Is that the stock motor? That thing made short work of climbing that hill (nice hill too). I'm digging that cage on there, looks awesome!

    Ecx Temper Build

Have you swapped out the differentials yet? You're going to need to with those big tires and that hot motor. Get the metal ones for a Redcat Everest 16 they won't strip out like the stock plastic ones do. They are what I put in my rig...

    Skid plate and links

Yeah the Barrage skid plate is definitely wider than the Temper. It's narrower than an SCX10 but wider than the Temper. I took an SCX10 chassis and a Barrage skid and transferred all my stuff from my Temper and built my little orange truck.

What bodies fit the ECX Temper?

You know what, it just might! And you're right, you can pretty much choose where the rears go so, heck go for it!!!

    Short Run Times Blues

I'm hoping someone comes up with a new motor/gearbox setup for this thing. I wanted to buy one but with all I've heard about the short run time and the lack of low end torque, I'm staying away. The last thing I need is to spend $100 and be sadly disappointed.

    Body hitting tire

That is correct. The Redcat Everest 16, the Exceed Maxstone 16 and the Temper are all pretty much the same hardware. I have a Redcat parts list here

    Rear lockout mod

Interesting. Your must have the V2 axles (what they put on the first gen Barrage).

    Christmas came early!

From what I've heard so far it's a decent little Trail truck but not much of a crawler due to the gearing. It's quick but has no low end torque. Sounds like that's what you noticed. Do you feel that's the case? That it has speed but not much "POWER". I still think I'm going to have to get one...

    Rear lockout mod

I did not have to trim anything. They fit perfectly.
