I need (maybe in the future) a smart lipo charger that can at least charge my 2s 4000 mah lipo. I am a noob at charging lipos, so I want a super smart charger that scans the lipo or something and figured out which way to charge it. Any one know of a good charger that charges from the wall? I don’t need to charge on the go

I'm only aware of two setups that are literally plug and charge.

Traxxas ID:

Spektrum:

I have no experience on either of those so I cannot comment.

Truly though, as long as you take care, you likely will never have an issue with a standard charger setup.

I can recommend the Venom Pro Duo, I have one and have never had an issue.

Many people like Hitec quite a bit too, so the X1 if you only need to charge one at a time or the X2 for two at a time.

Yup, I have seen ALL of these on YouTube, I was just wondering what people thought from experience, thanks!

I've found this page to be a very well done intro to Lithium Polymer batteries (LiPo). I know you want something that is "plug it in and forget about it" but a little knowledge will be tremendously beneficial. LiPo batteries deliver fantastic performance but that comes at the cost of a little education on your part. Really-- just 15 minutes and you'll have the core concepts down.

Also thanks to @X for the HiTec mention. Totally stole my thunder. ;)

Im using a Imax B6 and I was a complete noob to lipos before getting it. Its been working great so far and has not been to complicated.

I use it to charge lipos and nimh . Usually I charge at 1c max but usually less if I have time. Its Based off the mah (capacity) of the battery. So if your lipo is 4000mah I would charge it at max 4.0amps if its say 1800mah I would charge at 1.8 amps , 3900mah charge at 3.9amps and so on . I use this method for all my lipos and nimh unless there something written on the battery saying its less then a 1c charge rate witch I have not personally seen.
So aside from chosing the connector and just manually selecting the type of battery its not to difficult. I would invest in some lipo charging bags though just to be safe.

Only 2 issues I have with the Imax B6 is charging a nicad glow ignighter it always says its full charge after a few minutes even though its not even tried at 0.1 amp charge rate and same issue. 2nd issue was there was no power cable included .
