A little extra speed

I recently got a slightly used 2wd Torment. I am on a very limited budget, but would like to bump the speed up a little. What would be a better upgrade, 2 x Venom 7cell 3000mah batteries, or a Goolrc brushless system(3300kv or 3800kv)? I'm don't need blazing fast, just a bit more than the stock 20mph. Not interested in lipos right now.

I ended up ordering batteries, 1-3000mah and 1-4200mah, because I figured I could get away with not doing the metal gear swap right away. Of course this evening I received a $25 ebay gift card, so I just ordered up the gears. Time to get my hustle on to get money for a brushless system next.

Biz, the brushless motor would definitely give you more speed, make sure you change your ESC also, or, get a combo brushless set up such as a Castle. Also, you can get a little more speed by putting some bigger tires on or a little bigger pinion, or both. That will be cheaper then the brushless set-up.
