Been dormant awhile and hadn't messed with my amp but I recently got back into it and bought a new 3s battery to go with my brushless upgrades the speed difference is amazing from 2s to 3s. I put the metal transmission gears in it this weekend and kept the stock spur gear and was debating doing the drive shafts in metal as well but when I went to look for them I saw hot racing doesn't have them in stock or horizon hobby and my lhs is the same way. I checked there website and it wasn't on the discontinued list so I'm not sure what's up. Hot racing also doesn't have any contact information other than an email so I'm not sure if they will be much help. The part I was looking for was part# hrasect288 but it looks like it might not be available anymore.

If anyone knows of another part that works on the amp mt for the rear driveshaft please let me know thanks in advance

I'm not opposed to doing some modifications if the traxxas ones are of good quality and would hold up to the 3s and brushless power. Otherwise have you had any experience with the more expensive model of the hot racing ones? I dont mind buying them but hadn't seen much about them good or bad

Don't have any experience with the Hot Racing shafts. I have used the Traxxas TRA6852X plastic shafts and used some Integy shafts made for the Traxxas 4x4s the C27987 ones but took them off to put on a Helion Avenge. I replaced them with the Integy T8564 ones on my Ruckus but don't have a lot of faith in them they just feel cheap but haven't broken yet running 32p gearing and a 3656 3200kv brushless motor on 3s.

Hot Racing seems to be the preferred choice for shafts (when you can find them).

I'll probably just go with the hot racing set as soon as my stock ones go bad I wanna see how much longer they last now I'm on 3s. I already burnt up my $50 set of tires in no time on 2s, of course that's my own fault but I enjoy it lol

I have been in talks with a guy using those current HR shafts. He is a medium heavy basher and as of two days ago reported no issues with them so far. To my knowledge he has been using them for a few weeks to a month or two. I currently use the discontinued model and if you ever get your hands on a set they are great for all kinds of uses.

Thanks for the update I'll probably end up ordering them soon. I really missed out on some parts the T bone racing bumper for my amp is also out of stock so I'm waiting on that as well. I looked on ebay and a few other hobby stores online and had no luck finding the old style. If you happen to find some let me know.

HamBy92, I've been using the Hot Racing steel tubular shafts for about a 1.5 years now on my Amp and have had no problems at all. I run a Castle motor and Gen Ace 7000 mAh battery and the speed and bashing has done nothing to these CV,s.

That's good to hear. I run the castle sidewinder 4 sensored 3800kv motor and just went with a 3s battery I've been waiting in the stock drive shafts to bite the dust but they're still holding strong so far. I've managed to break nearly everything else else though lol. I need to get better with the battery terminology there's so many different options to choose from I'll post a pic of my 2s and 3s batteries I have

That thing looks sick!!! very nice job on the rear shocks by the way, it's nice seeing people go out of the box to trick these things out. these are a few pics of my 1/10 Ruckus. Still working on switching some parts over to adjustable or HR brand.

That's a nice rig you got there man! I'm slowly building mine up like that. I was debating getting the aluminum a arms but saw rpm makes a plastic set as well and they are a better plastic than stock. I'm waiting on t bone to get the basher bumper back in stock as well they just switched the inventory system over so it might be awhile. I have a bad habit of hitting the front tire and breaking the hinge pin holder for the front a arms ?

That's why I use drip system hose for the front bumper. It will hit the curb or whatever first before the wheels. It works as I have hit a lot of things when racing. There's a lot you can do to a Amp if you but your mind to it.

Did you have to modify anything to use the integy shafts?

You can also find hot racing products on eBay, just type hot racing in the search box.
Don't use their aluminum turn buckles as they do bend you if hit or bash into something, stick with steel or titanium turn buckles. The Amp is a entre level truck, but when its upgraded, look out, it is a killer machine. I have to admit, mine is upgraded to the max, and there are still things i can do to it.
