I have made it that the front 2 pins on the 4x4 alu drive shaft seems to break off clean under heavy torque...4S...6S.

I now had 5 "broken" center shafts...lol.

I took 2 ss screws into each end tight and hack sawed off the ends to match the other end. A little filing and Bingo... rejuvenated. I now have full 4x4. Probably stronger pins than stock. Save me another $13 each.
3 more to go... i messed up 1st one; too short. I hope this helps someone.

PS. Damn are these little ss screws really difficult to cut off.

On 6s...everything in front of it is the sacrificial part;)

How do the diffs hold up to this power, I don’t even have a ecx 4x4 I’m just curious.

Well... after much trial and error fun...lol... 6S was just test and lightly acceleration on road only. This whole rig isn't designed like Aarma 6S or Tekno MT410 (my next build...)

More like a desert racer low speed jumps etc...4S is more suited.

Yesterday had fun on large short grass park hitting 40-48mph.... before miss judging speed and proximity to a tree... side hit.. finished off the already cracked rear hub. My fault.

Otherwise very beefy. Both diffs working.

Only have Mobil 1 syn pink grease in front... stock diff fluid in rear when you buy complete Ecx. And of course major player is the HOT RACING HARDENED STEEL 45T SPUR... keeps temps down and smoother contrary to popular social media? Good people need to stop meshing with paper. Also lightly applying white lithium grease to spur is a great help too.

Hit racing front alu steering brace + hr alu servo saver and 16mm aarma 6s front shocks make it quite bullet-proof. TBone front - rear bumpers also major player. 17mm alu wheel hubs....

It's all the little components together that count.... i must have thrown out 3/4 of the rig i bought in april for $160. RC learning experience has taught me what doesn't work....

Expressing myself a little long ...no short explanation. You've got to make and work through all mistakes to really understand?

Rear hub carrier... plastic... arriving tmrw. $7 pr.
High speed tree encounter only popped off body...intact...shock lower mount ... intact...lost dogbone driveshaft... spare... center alu driveshaft front pins... repaired.
Near bullet- proof fun on 4S 4x4.

.. BLX185 ctrl 4S 50C in series HW 2600kv 5mm front Talion 6S shocks 1:4 diff ratio...45T/14T 1.0 mod white lithium greased. Very fast...very smooth. So fun.
PS i did slightly bend rear 2.5mm shock shaft.....lol.

Smart move Viking, I did the same to my CV's ball joints. The hardened pin went right through the blue collar. Yes the SSL screws are very hard to cut with a hacksaw, unless you use a diamond blade or you can grind them.

It's fun and amusing. RC hobby... i am fascinated in many ways. if you are inclined helps you improvise a solution with what you got or you find a cheaper way without $$$. Mind you, I'm always retro fitting stuff to make it work, better after pondering and researching...

PS (I have also noticed how manufacturers take something, label it "rc race" and quadruple or 10x price it... and good people buy it? Grease or diff fluid....) I'm sure the small tub of MOBIL 1 synthetic pink auto grease for shafts gears diffs ect for $10 works just like 'black grease' for 8.99 2oz... lol. Enough for 100+ diffs.

My 2cc.

Viking, I do the same thing. I'm a retired machinist so I make a lot of my own upgrades. Its always a good feeling to make something better. Keep it up, keep the hobby strong.

Oh yea, you remind me of me. Nice vehicles, keep up the good work. When you put your mind to it theres nothing you cant do. You seem to be mechanically inclined for sure, and that's a good thing. You will.go far. I'm 75 and still go out and play with the kids and race, I love it.

Wow.... super smooth front Outcast 6S shocks onto rear....plush. replaced front Talion 6S shocks from 40 to 80wt. Very balanced now at speed. 9Ib rig needed it. Controlled 2ft landings too. Fun

Saved my truck numerous times from total destruction. Very tough. I once lost transmitter control at full throttle away from me...t junction curb collision at 48mph per attached gps...snapped the rear chassis and tore diff housing. I was testing 4000kv on 45/12T 3S 50C acceleration. I learnt
1 always check AA batteries in transmitter. Crappy stx2 anyway...
2 speed run max 'towards' not away lol
