Building a 2wd Torment club racer, and I am also builder a 2wd Torment basher over the winter months here. I have the stock Spectrum DX2E remote and stock receiver whatever number that is. Looking to upgrade to the next level remote for my racer, what is everyone running?

I was looking at the new Spectrum DX5C, just want to feel out and see what everyone else is kinda running. Still not looking to spend booku dollars yet on a different remote.

I sold my DX2E's and bought a pair of Trackstar TS4G (Radiolink RC4G)

The one being sold now is a newer version of the one I have, better processor, lower latency. Banggood sells the original Radiolink version. New RX's are $12, which is nice, as I have about 6-8 RX's for all my cars. 10 Model memory makes it easy to switch between cars. It won't give you any "street cred" at the track, but it will save you some big $$$.

Oh, and I forgot to add - there is a built in gyro in the RX (can be turned off for racing). Great feature for bashing with 2wd cars. The ch3 knob on the Tx can control the gain on the gyro for on-the-fly adjustment.

For racing in particular, a good radio makes all the difference. I was looking at the Futaba 3pv but found a deal on a used Hitec Lynx 4s for the same price with 3 rx’s. It wouldn’t be necessary for bashing, but if you really get into racing a proper radio should be your first upgrade. The control is night and day. We bought the Fly Sky Gt3b and it’s great for bashing and teaches you the basics of how to adjust things to your driving style, but the slow steering response is why I can’t race with it. There’s a delay that just isn’t acceptable. Didn’t fully realize how bad it was until I upgraded.

Thanks for the inputs. I should be making the purchase here in the next couple months. I am building the truck now, but will need to get the radio by time the snow melts.

I just purchased the mentioned "RadioLink RC4GS 2017 version). found it on ebay for a little over $50.
(I will report back when I get it installed and dialed in.....youtube and research says it was what I was looking for and affordable....jerry-rigged "Hit the nail on the head"...the ADJUSTMENTS AND FEATURES WILL HELP ME ALOT!!)
*Check out the features:(download the rc4gs manual)

hope you like it as much as I do. My #1 tip for this radio - first thing when you set up a new Model Memory slot - go to Option #20 and set the Fail Safe to 0-0-0-0. The default is a "Flyer" style full throttle, full rudder, which is a bit dangerous for a car...

Ping me when you get the radio in, and I will walk you thru it. Easy, but no instruction on it.

I am hoping that after playing with the gyro settings, this will help to smooth my driving/steering and the Ruckus 2wd when bashing at the local outdoor clay track.(*It is slick as Heck). I also ordered the GoolRC 80amp ESC/3800kv/program card package to replace my mamba x/4600kv castle set-up that I was running.(Wife likes it too much in her Losi XXX-T MF1 /Won't give it back..lol...I have it programmed to where she can go fast at the track)
*I believe, I can use this Radiolink system features to assist with braking and torque....not nearly like the castle software, but much better than just endpoint adjustments.
