Ecx smash

Well since i mentioned this section i figured i would make the first thread on it. So i picked up a ecx smash off of Craigslist about a month ago and withing the first week i killed the motor and thus lead to the start of what is going to be a 50mph(yes you read that right) quest.

So far I have stripped it all down and am just looking for parts to replace stock ones. I would really like aluminum parts but we will see. I think i have found some from the Losi micro-t that i can use but we will see. As for motors its between a hobbywing or castle creations brushless system just trying to figure out what Kv to go with. I'm going with hot racing 56mm shocks and i also got some different tires on the way.

What kv range are you thinking? Like 4000+?

Yea i actually just got it back up and running this weekend. I went with a 7800kv motor and 18a esc from hobbywing.

I didn't get to run it much because it spun the tires free from the wheels. So now i have to reglue them or just get new ones.

Nice kv selection! Does it have 12mm hex? If it does you should check out those 1/16 slash wheels and tires.

The slash wheels may be a bit too big anyway... it sucks cause I have a set of slotted wheels laying around my room somewhere!

I know this is old but figured I'd toss in my two cents if this project is still on going. a CC 8000kv motor would of been my choice. Losi foam tires. ExoTech chassis is longer and more stable at high speeds. high speed bearings all around and metal gears for tranny, maybe even Losi slipper upgrade. theres a ton more you can do but that's the basics of what I did to mine.
