was wondering if anyone makes a better wheel and tire combo for truck. 2wd. A lot of road play. But my problem is I destroy the wheels. The hex area will end up round.

You can upgrade the wheel hexes to aluminium, that should take care of that problem.

Popular wheels and tires I know of are proline, duratrax and jconcepts.

So are those wheel better plastic that stock? I stripped out my wheels on both sides this weekend. I have hot racing axles so that took care of he's problem. Just need wheels to handle it now.

I don't think the plastic on those wheels will be much better. But using metal hexes should be enough, unless your wheel nuts are backing off or something.

I agree with @xlDooM, most of the time wheel hexes are stripped it is because the wheels nuts are too loose. If you are using lock nuts, it may be time to replace them. If not, you should be using blue loctite on the threads.

Metal hexes. They sit in the wheel better than the plastic ones. The metal are a better "fit" and seem to be more exact.

I replaced my Ruckus wheel hexs with aluminium and no more stripping. Also, as has been said, check that wheel nuts are tight/good condition

If you have upgraded drive shafts and rpm suspension parts, you can use 17mm hex adapters and then use 1/8th truggy wheels, like I do. (See my profile pic). Hardly any ballooning, grip is good all round and they last forever. I mostly play offroad, so these might not be the best wheels for you, but the 17mm hex upgrade will solve your stripping hex problem.

My Wheels: http://www.louiserc.com/products_detail.php?M=0&uID=1&cID=7&Key=79 (L-T3134SYH Soft / 1/2 offset Yellow Rim / Mounted) - 1/2 offset gives it a wide stance.

My hex adapters at the back - Use MIP shafts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-12mm-...774392?hash=item43e4d1f738:g:qQIAAOSwT5tWMZIa

My hex adapters at the front: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hot-Racing-...pede-4X4-Aluminum-17mm-Hex-Hubs-/262137594487

Are the any 17mm adapter sets that work with the ruckus 1 10

Ecx Stock hexes are very soft I noticed they bend and strip out real easy nothing but problems. +1 on aluminum hexes

Or these 1/2 offset front and rear?

I have upgraded my 2wd Ruckus to aluminum hexes but cannot stop them from stripping. Does anyone still have recommendations for a better mouse trap to prevent this from happening. Would like to stay away from the 17MM if possible as it sounds like a lot of parts changes/upgrades.

Try to check and see if you're lock nuts are still good, If they are too loose and/or back out, that will most likely strip out the wheel. Also, The Ecx aluminum hexes are a better fit so that may fix it too.

The answer is often your wheel nuts. Get M4 flanged serrated nuts. They won’t back off.

I've had lots of issues over the years with wheel nuts not holding. Most of the time it's the left side that get loosened. Sometimes, the nylon locking ones are only good for a couple of loosening/tightening episodes IMO. Even flanged serrated nylon locking nuts have loosened on a couple of my rides.

Vibra-TITE 125 Removable Medium Strength Gel Anaerobic Threadlocker has been my best friend in the fight against loose nuts . I haven't lost a wheel in years since using the gel thread lock. Small tube of the stuff will last me at least a couple of years.

When I finally use up all my Loctite blue stick I've thought about trying out Vibra-tite. Just wish they offered a stick form as well.

I’ve been fine once I went with flanged serrated nuts with the grooves cut the opposite way.

The other thing you can do is pull the hexes off of the axle and super glue them into the wheel. You have to be careful not to lose the pins when you take the wheel off but there is no way they will strip. You can use any 12mm hexes and pins. They may not have ECX hexes at your LHS but they will have Traxxas hexes and they work fine.

If your wheel nuts are backing off it may be time for a bearing kit. Rubber sealed - Fast Eddy makes them. No need for ceramic just the rubber sealed steel are fine.
