Temper Gen2 front axle pin

What is supposed to retain the pin in the front axle?
My LHS gave me a returned Temper Gen2 To try to fix. As far as I can tell, it is simply missing one of the pins in the front drive shaft. I looked at the other side and I was able to easily slide that pin out.
What retrains this pin?
Can I order extras of that pin?

are you talking about the drive hex pin, if so nothing holds it in its there to keep the hex from spinning on the axle, here is the ecx part number for those ECX221000

Thanks for getting back to me.
No, not the hex pin. The pin that holds together the 2 pieces of each front shaft.
Since the front shaft is sold as a single piece, I assume that the pin is not intended to come out. Is it press fitted into the cup?
ECX222002
I will find an appropriate diameter of metal rod, replace the missing pin and put a piece of shrink wrap around the cup to retain the pins.
Or I can spend $39 for an axle kit.
