Transmitter broke - replacement

New to R/C vehicles so I bought the AMP DB to play around with - I turned the wheel too hard and broke it so I need a new transmitter... Do I need the exact replacement Ecx AMP 10003 2.4ghz Transmitter and just bind it or can I get any ECX transmitter and bind it or do I need a new trans&reciever? Cheaper the better... I let my 5 year old nephew play with it and am saving for another r/c!

Links with an instock one would be great if allowed!!!

Hmmm. You know your cheapest best bet would be to find someone who did a brushless upgrade and get the stock one. I bet you could find that if you searched or asked around at your LHS. I am just waiting on the metal gear set (back ordered) to swap in a brushless motor, ESC and DumboRC radio.

Ask around locally. I just set a neighbour kid up with the brand new Spektrum STx2 and receiver that came with my Arrma Notoriou (which I ripped out before running it as my DumboRC is far superior) and I bet there are plenty in the community that will hook you up for cheap or free.

I would contact Horizon Hobby's directly to find out what receivers are compatible. Call them on the phone, their customer service is excellent.
