Hi guys -
My kid put away the truck a few months back, unfortunately, and left it wet. So we trashed most of the bearings, etc and are in the process of changing them out. The little bearing on the back of the slipper between the spur gear and the spring was completely frozen onto the little shoulder bushing it rides on. In the process of getting the bearing off (heating with a torch, spraying the bushing with an upside down can of compressed air, and tapping with a screwdriver while held in a vise), the little shoulder bushing became deformed.
I went to buy another one and discovered that -
A. We have to buy an entire slipper clutch.
B. They don't seem to be available anywhere anymore, unless you want to pay $40 on Amazon.
Is this part of the Hobbico bankruptcy? Does anybody have a good source for remaining ECX parts? Is this this the end of the ECX community that doesn't have access to hobby shops?
Thanks guys,
J
