Sorry if my termology is incorrect. I'm in need of a controller replacement for my sons Amp. Is it better to just go with an exact replacement or is there a better option we should go with?

if you go with the stock unit you will just need to bind it. However if you choose to go aftermarket and change it altogether, you will need to change the 2 in 1 esc/receiver combo to a separate esc and receiver. Spektrum makes a great motor and esc combo for under 100 bucks

My first question would be why. Why do you need a new one?
If it is because the esc+rx went bad, which if I am being honest, the stock factory one isn't the best product ever made, I personally would look into a new radio set up. There are plenty out there in bundles to handle what you would need.

What's your budget?

Man, I kinda forgot about posting this question. So, the stock transmitter broke and that is why I am looking for a replacement. It's not something he uses all the time so I'm not looking at breaking the bank. I'm looking for something that will work, last a little longer, and will not take all my brain power to install and make work. I know, somewhat a tall order.
