Broken gear tooth

I have been working on my amp/circuit Frankenstein and well. I put the castle motor and 2s lipo in and after a hardbthump to the rear end it moved the motor and stripped the plastic spur gear. Had her out today and was running great. But at one point sounded like the drive and spur came out of mesh so I stopped. No damage to my new spur but the stock drive gear has a tooth broken right off. Is there a procedure to meshing these gears that I am unaware of. Isnthebslipper too tight?? Or is the castle motor just shredding stock parts??? Thanks guys!

@Jddemelfi My personal preference for setting gear mesh is to use a plastic baggy that replacement parts typically come in, place it in between the pinion and spur and tighten down. For me that gets me a perfect gear mesh!
