brushed 2wd Torment making a weird noise.

Hey everyone,

I have a brushed 1/10 Torment running an 8.4 nimh 3000 battery. Anyway the truck now sounds like a weedeater. The car still seems to have great pickup, but top speed may be slightly reduced. The car has always had a high pitched whine that sounded really cool. But, after some mild ramp jumping the car started to sound funny. I took the slipper clutch cover off to check the the small gear and that area all looks good. Any ideas on what might cause the truck to sound like a small weedeater?

You're likely looking for gear issues, as I think you already guessed. Since you say the pinion/ spur looks good, I would check your diff. Also make sure that all support for your gears doesn't look damaged. If there is damage it could cause poor mesh, giving you this issue. If you do have damage to your diff I believe ECX makes a metal gear upgrade.
