Does anyone know of a roll cage for the AMP Crush?

I've been searching for a roll cage for my son's amp crush. Every time he rolls it, the body undergoes a lot of stress. Eventually, he ended up cracking the side where the bed meets the cabin. I have a new body, but I don't want to put it on without some kind of reinforcement. I was thinking of doing the drywall tape/shoe goo hack to strengthen it, but I think a roll cage would be the best option. However, I cannot find one for the amp crush. My other idea is to build one myself with some lightweight material. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi!

Personally, I'd go for the drywall tape/ shoe goo method.
Thing is, by applying that, the weight will be evenly distributed over the entire body. A roll cage will most definitely add weight up top, Since that platform is known for being top-heavy, it could create issues.
Also, the reinforcing of the body will be of help when the car rolls over sideways into something.

But if you prefer the cage thing, you could easily fabricate something from plastic rods. Just be sure to buy some rods that have a little bit of flex in them for absorption of crashes.
Plastic rods bend easily when heated and can be joined by glue or using small screws. When you are finished with the construction, you could always decide to spray paint it in any colour you like.
For inspiration, you could check out the Tellurion (? the Traxxas thing) to see what kind of tubing is used.

If you really want to go the "extra mile", you could even consider both methods combined. That would be beneficial, since the roll cage would be mounted to the body. Some extra strength around the mounting points of the cage is never a bad idea.

Hope this answer helps a bit,

EcButler, if your looking to save the body the the easiest way to do it, is to add plastic drawer handles or furniture buttons. Furniture buttons are the easiest to install, doesn't increase body height. I have used both, and in my experiences the buttons are the best and easiest to attach. Don't forget to use 1/16×1/2 inch aluminum flat bar on the back-side of the body for strength. Don't mount directly to the body.
