I’m looking to upgrade the battery and want one that will fit. Can the amp take lipos? Want the best battery I can get without upgrading anything else

I'm learning all this as I go, but I just did all your research for you. I talked to a few people and bought two Lipo batteries that I actually chose not to use (my NiMh batteries are fast enough for my son and I). I have them for sale here on the site, but these are the ones I was recommended to use with my ECX AMP https://www.kingcobraofflorida.com/products/onxp50002s30h3

I think the main thing is to not go over 2S, 7.4v and make sure the connector is EC3.

Aclewis04, you can use 2s Lipo batteries in your Amp, however, if you go to 3s yo u will have raise the battery compartment to except 3s.

They aren’t much faster than a fully charged NiMH they just dont drop off as much during a run and they last much longer. I have a 7,000 mAh 2S 50C that was going 40 minutes plus on my son‘s sock brushed Amp MT. Running with a voltage alarm on the balance lead of course.
