ESC options that can do brushed and brushless

So it turns out I'm going to have to donate all the electronics from my AMP kit to another project, so I will need an ESC and motor. At this point I specifically do not want wheelie over backwards, melt the plastic gears type power. I think the 15t brushed motor from the circuit is about right for now. However eventually I do want to do some significant upgrades. So to avoid buying two ESCs as I go, are there some that can do either? I know a couple from Castle do, but does anyone know of some others? The castles are kind of expensive and won't quite fit where I want to put it in the truck.

Even the Castle escs in the specs say only down to 19t brushed motor. I don't think you will find another brand that will do both brushed and brushless, go down to a 15t 540 and not be expensive.

If you just want more speed but not more wheelie popping power just get one those F540 finned can brushless motors with a 60a brushless esc.

I didn’t even know those existed, but it may just what I need. I want the power of a moderately hot brushed, with the efficiency and reliability of brushless.

That's what the F540 brushless motors are, not much on torque but can give you speed with the reliability of brushless.

My first brushless combo was a 45a esc F540 4370kv combo in my Circuit. I think the kv is a little high though, I was able to shred the stock plastic gears but a lower kv motor will have less rpms and will be easier on the stock plastic gears.

Redcat has a clearance sale going on and this older model RTR 60a version of a Hobbywing is on sale https://www.redcatracing.com/products/69563r?variant=30993518788698 that and a motor like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZH8S78Z/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A3LPPGDFFATELF&psc=1 should be a decent combo. The price of these cheaper brushless motors is about the same price as a decent brushed motor.

You can go with a combo like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086JP6R48/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A26VIUQVW0AS98&psc=1 but the reliability of the escs is hit and miss.

I wouldn't worry about trying to mess with brushed motors anymore. Brushless doesn't have to be overpowering, I think that's a false belief that brushless will be wheelie popping, diff shredding power but most want it to be when they move to brushless.
