first time setting up electronics in new build

built a 1/10 2wd buggy
hobbywing max10 4000kv-60A esc
xpert 3431 steering servo
kyosho syncro 3 channel rx/tx (kitted)

i've found directions on how to set and calibrate
have done each before in various ways, just not all from scratch

when i calibrate the esc and transmitter is it ok to go full throttle or reverse with wheels up?
just go wheels down outside in open area?
or should i remove pinion gear til after esc and transmitter calibrated?

Do it with the RC on a stand. Though, still be careful as going full throttle can toss the RC a little and you don't want it to fall off.

If your car wants to drive a way on your work table make sure you don’t have little parts everywere or you will find out the hard way how to get little parts out of boards on the floor that have holes in them
