HELP! Blinking green light on esc and battery ticking.

Turn on the ESC the green light starts to blink x-x-x-x-x-x I cant find error codes for this. It started in the middle of a run. If I give it throttle, the motor clicks/moves very slightly making the car jerk slightly then continue in the x-x-x-x-x-x pattern. The esc is old and half broken but it bugs me that is quit completely like this. Is it in lipo mode??? The manual doesent describe how to get into the LVC menu. When I try these steps it goes into calibration mode.

Note: it the esc only starts doing this when plugged into the receiver (new spektrum sr215) even if the transmitter isint on.

Anyone have any idea what this is?
