Motor screws

The motor screws in the manual are shown as M3 x 8mm

the ones in my trucks are longer.

1. What is the correct length?

2. I have stripped threads on two motors, is this common or are the threads in my truck too long and i should use 8mm.

I would go and what the book says and make sure you don't over tighten them. Just use a small dab of medium Loctite which should be blue.

Beer Nuts, the motor you have now, are the threaded holes stripped? Your option is either a new motor, tap out the stripped holes to M4's or reposition the motor to different mounting holes. If you go with a new motor I would definitely go with a brushless combo. If your low on funds a Goul Combo for $ 49 will work. It's not the best brushless motor but it should do till your a little more flush. Hope this info helps you out. Happy RCing.

Beer Nut, if you decide to tap go with 5-40 x 5/16 long instead of M4. 8mm about 5/16 in length.

Also if your going to LocTight, use LocTight adhesive if the front motor plate is plastic. You can find it on Amazon or eBay. Otherwise use what ScottyD said for metal and follow his introduction on tightening.
