New transmitter installation

Dear Community,
I'm beginner here, so apologies in advance for the (probably) stupid question.
I have an AMP-MT and I want to replace the transmitter.
I bought a Hobby King HK-GT2E with its receiver.
My questions are :
1. Can I use the transmitter without installing the HK receiver ?
2. If so, how can I bind the transmitter to the integrated ECX receiver ?
3. If not so, how should I connect the receiver ?

1. No.
2. You can't.
3. You need to replace the ESC as well.

I bought this one off ebay and it has been flawless, and always cool to the touch on 2s:

I feel your pain. Mine was also out of service for two weeks.

This is why you need at least two RCs...

If you're stateside, shoot me your address. I have a spare brushed ESC that's yours for free if you need it. It came off of my Ruckus.
