Stuttering and intermittent throttle issues

I recently upgraded my amp with the 4000kv kinexis brushless, metal internals, 3s lipo and spektrum stx2 w/ SRX200 receiver. I am having issues on with intermittent hesitation and stuttering when trying to throttle up. Any ideas on what might be causing this? The receiver and Transmitter are linked correctly. The esc is programmed correctly as well.

I think the only way is switch to sensored but I could be wrong

Should I not use the stock battery?

I always use a 2s. Even on my stock brushed systems if it allows it

I'll try it on the 3s then. I haven't driven anything with this much power so it is kind of intimidating but I guess I just need to get over my apprehension and do it

Do you have any recommendations for the proper pinion gear to use with a 81t spur gear?

I’m no expert but I personally think the 4000kv motor would be happier in 2s. I’d leave the stock spur and go down 1 tooth on the pinion to start. Just one man’s opinion.
