Hello! I'm in the process to upgrade my amp mt. I'm super new to RC and I'm trying to learn.

I did lot of reading on this forum.

I understand that if I want to change the motor I would need to change the esc and rx. Can anyone post a few links of what is a good option? I understand that i would need to change some other parts since the more power, willing to do that to. My amp mt was a kit and I really enjoyed building it so now I'm ready to make some upgrades. I appreciate any help.

Thanks!!

For the price, the dumboRc x6 is a pretty good rx. Quite programmable, great range, has a gyro, and cheap recievers, which means you can run all your rc rigs on one remote. Sorry no links, I'm not so good with such things. The goolrc tg3 isn't a bad option, 3 channel remote, feels kinda cheap but has been durable for my son. Has a 50,75,100% throttle switch, to limit the throttle if needed. I got one for 26 bucks on ebay almost 2 years ago, been holding up fine. The only issue was the throttle trigger is small, had to dremmel the finger hole bigger. But I'd recommend the dumbo for 20 or so bucks more. And of course theres much better more expensive systems out there, all depends on what you want to spend.
As for esc and motor, what is your budget, and are you planning on brushless? Also, what batteries do you use? (2s, 3s). You shouldn't cheap out on the esc if you can. A cheapo Chinese brushless motor is fine, that's where you can try to save a few bucks.

For the motor/esc, I went with an onyx 4000kv motor and esc combo... make sure to set the slipper correctly to compensate for the new power.

Thanks for the answer, I'm currently using a 2s battery and already made a big difference. I don't mind spending money on a good brushless motor.

I put a spektrum 4000kv motor and esc combo in my amp and it's almost too much. I've blown a couple rear tires and 1 set of slipper pads. Beyond that. Happy with my brushless upgrade. :) just picked up a Silverado body and bearing kit for it today. Great introduction car to the hobby. Now I'm looking at a kraton 6s lol

Awesome man! I put a spektrum 4s 130 amp, 3150kv system in my amp, i have traxxas turn buckles, stock shocks with glued on shock caps lol, then i have duratrax sc tires, hot racing dogbone rear driveshafts, tbone racing rear bumper, modified chassis brace thing for the front end, rpm hub cariers on the front, onyx servo, and modified stiffened up servo saver. Lots of mods on my rig ? also i only run 3s because 4s is too much ?

Need tires for the rear. And busted a second rpm caster block tonight (ran into a fence just as I was getting home lol) bust out another 20 bucks.

Lotty, there are a lot of upgrades you can do to the Amp Mt. Motor, ESC, batteries, tires, shocks, body lifts, lights, battery compartment mod for 3S batteries, micro switches, auxiliary batteries, modified body mounts, ect. The options are endless. Some upgrades I make myself.

Weave,

I love your custom mounts for the shocks and body. Had to engineer some brackets to raise the ass end of my body mounts and I'm so proud. Can't wait to paint this new proline Silverado body. The stock mt body I have is legit 80% duct tape now haha.
