Question about motor/battery damage

If I ride a stock ECX AMP on max throttle do I risk damaging the motor or battery?

Nope, that's what it's meant to do. If you go max throttle in tall grass for a long period of time then you could burn out the motor. On gravel, low grass, dirt, or pavement your fine.
