Ruckus 2wd 1/10 ESC smoking

Hi, just fixed some axle parts, charged the battery and starting driving the truck. Suddenly after about 15 minutes the truck would not go in reverse but would go forward regardless of the direction of the trigger. Took the body off and the esc was smoking. Assuming that needs to be replaced or is it something else? What should I replace it with?

Brushed. I also see that there's a recall on some of the esc's according to their website. I've contacted them
