Due to wife sautering through esc and destroying it after ripping battery leads off it.?

I have a 1/10 2wd torment and I took it out on my street that's covered with snow and ice one day. The tires could not get traction, so I just took the car back in.(I later then realized my brushless setup was not waterproof. Luckily the car was fine.) Is it just that fact that the car is 2wd, or is it something else?
