  • rpm front A arms - wrapped one around a sign post
  • rpm rear A arms - just got sick of rocks getting stuck
  • ECX HD rear axles - rock in suspension arm chewed one up
  • team associated titanium steering/camber links - adjustability
  • rpm rod ends
  • team associated 8mm ball studs - ECX too short
  • rpm oversized rear hubs - with AE ball stud, threadlock, and M3 lock nut
  • rpm oversized front steering knuckles - will be switching to Hot Racing Aluminum (and threadlock) soon, sick of searching for shoulder screws
  • rpm caster blocks - why not? and didn't wanna bend aluminum ones
  • acer, trb, and fast eddy bearings
  • ECX aluminum wheel hexes - one stripped wheel was enough
  • ECX aluminum shocks (30wt front and 35wt rear)
  • team associated low friction x rings - slow leak shocks starting to get old, still in package as of yet though
  • team associated shock springs - went stiffer front and rear, better on jumps, seem to help street handling too

How do these differ from the stock ones? Are they actually longer? I have trouble fitting some wheels since I put new Hot Racing axles.
 
ha my apologies... i'll see what i can do, my phone is ancient :)

it's a RTR brushless 2wd
came with 2400maH NiMH (i know, lame)
looking to make the jump to lipos soon (just need battery and charger and bag)

also want to upgrade the ESC
and then a MG servo
 
i have never used hot racing axles

not sure what HD stands for, i don't think they are longer though
maybe they are supposed to be stronger than stock?
seem to be holding up well either way

Usually stands for Heavy Duty. Tougher than stock, though for some things that's debatable. haha
 
All current 2wd models come with the "HD" drive shafts from the factory, they are listed as HD because they are an updated version of the axles that they first used. So you technically didn't upgrade the driveshafts, you just put in new ones. The rears for a Stampede 4x4 are slightly better because the stub axles don't step down at the thread.
 
technically, i never said i upgraded them, i just made a list of what i've put into it...
 
Are you happy with the RPM arms? I'm looking for a solution to the pin coming out of the rear arms when I hit something.

I know that the arms themselves will hold up to a lot of abuse, plus they don't get rocks stuck in them like the stock ones, but Idk if it will help with the pins pulling out. The problem with the pins pulling out isn't really with the arms it is more with the mount, and the last I checked Boom Racing was the only company that made an aluminum mount for the rear. Unfortunately it has been discontinued.
You should definitely get the Rpm a arms front and rear though much better than the stock ones.
Gotta love when those mailboxes just jump right out in front you lol

I need to move to the RPM arms myself. I had thought about going with the Hot Racing aluminum arms (came to find out they make a ton of aluminum parts for the Ruckus), but.... I'd rather replace a piece of heavy duty plastic rather than an expensive arm every time it breaks.

Yup unless you are making a shelf queen never ever under any circumstances use aluminum a arms, the first bad landing and they will turn into a pretzel. If you want to know what parts you should make aluminum look at a 1/8th scale race buggy like a Mugen, Tekno, Team Losi Racing (not Losi rtr).
 
i have wrecked many times, and have never had hinge pin come out
just those shoulder screws on the front steering spindle

love the rpm arms
front and rear
totally agree with @slick2500 no more rocks getting stuck and grinding on drive shafts

sucks.... just put on new front and rear axles yesterday

newest hot racing driveshafts on the way
only running 2s, so hoping they'll be ok
seen a lot of broken ones on this site, but seems like mostly when run on 3s

also put on the hot racing aluminum steering spindles
been sitting around for weeks
had one stock and one RPM
seemed like was little to easy for them to strip the RPM spindles
so i got out the HR ones and some blue threadlock
 
Yeah, you need better driveshafts with brushless. There's thread out there, it's either a Traxxas (or Traxxas compatible one, do't remember with some mods, or the top of the line Hot Racing afaik.
 
was either HR or MIP for rear 4x4 stampede

but wasn't sure how much modding i'd need to to for those to fit
or if i'd need to alter shock travel, which i don't wanna do
although would give me excuse to get proline shocks which are slightly shorter than ECX shocks
 
Not sure of the Hot Racing axles but the MIPs for the Stampede and Slash 4x4 are supposed to be drop in.
