I have a ECX Amp MT. And I was wondering if any of you converted this into a drag racer? Wanting to try something new. All tips & build links will be appreciated.

Right now it’s something to occupy my time, I have a new born so my free time is limited. But I do want to get into sanctioned racing. Good luck to you as well.Thanks. Yeah eventually I'll have it where I want. Good luck with yours too. You plan to run sanctioned? Or just for fun? This build is a fun one for me. But have 3 other dedicated drag cars. Building one on this platform way way different.
Understand that. Wait till your baby old enough to rc with you. My 4 kids run with me now. Building them gives them decent understanding of basic cars and electrical. Here's one of my dedicated drags. I want to have a matching set.Right now it’s something to occupy my time, I have a new born so my free time is limited. But I do want to get into sanctioned racing. Don't know how far you got into this. But our local track uses the same rules as these guys. So check it out as guideline/idea.Looks pretty sweet bro. And yes, I definitely want to get my son into it when he’s old enough.
Sweet. Welcome to rc lol. I been in it on and off since early 90s lol. Just worry about making your rig strong. My 8 year old son can drive my 45mph amp with no issues. I am have 4 lol. He also can drive my 80-100 mph rigs with little supervision. But his favs are the amps and crawler we have. But he started driving it when he was 6. Hardest part he had was understand left is left and right is right orientation to the rig not yourself lol. That was when he was younger. But once he got past that was smooth sailing. He actually drives better around a track or just bashing than my 18 year old. Lol Build your ruckus like you would drive. And when he's old enough...just trim back the throttle. No need in having different set up. And as he gets better and more confident..increase the speed. These trucks are pretty tough once you get them set up. Let him learn to have confidence in himself. I don't cringe when I hand over my controllers to my kids with the faster and bigger rigs. They can handle the speed and skill. So I am somewhat new to this hobby still. I currently have a 1/10 Ruckus 2 WD and I have already put into consideration on what to modify on it so I can keep it going when my 5 mth old can start playing with me. I am keeping it mostly for bashing and off road drift/race with family. I am really liking everyone's drag build that they are posting best of luck to all of you on your race to be fast! I would love to see a ECX mounted up with a 1/8 scale motor to attempt to take on one of the 6S speed demons that are out there. My budget is just a little too little for that but, would be my dream ECX build if going drag style.
How you been. Sorry been so long. With all this quarantine and school crap with my kids...been rough. Hopefully you and your family safe and doing alright?! You work on your rig anymore? I got some more done. Check it out. New motor 1100kv. Getting ready to switch esc out and fit 4-6s, finally put the rpm servo saver eliminator on. Omg it's the bee's knees. Changed out my tires for grp s3 compounds. S2/s1 will fail over 80mph. My body post came finally. They for a ruckus but will work. This will allow me to mount drag/eliminator body. So far leaning towards the mustang foxbody. But what you liking?
Honestly...it's not that bad. But expect limited run time until your close to finished or have enough money for the right parts. I don't have alot into my rig money wise. But alot of time working it. Dealing with life outside rc and stuff. I am an inpatient person. But you learn sometimes the best rigs are thought out and take time to build.Would a drag racer be a good idea for a limited amount of money?
