There have been several threads about how to clean your RC. I figured I'd share how I clean my RC's and others can share their methods as well below.
I first use a 50/50 mixture of water and Simple Green in a spray bottle.
Spray the RC down and let sit for a couple of minutes then wipe down with a clean rag or air blast dry with an air compressor.
For stubborn sports I will spray the RC again and use an old detailing brush or toothbrush on any hard to reach areas.
Optionally, you can use some WD40 on the RC after it's been cleaned to give it more of a shine if you like that kind of thing.
To clean RC bearings I remove the bearings from the RC and place inside an RPM Bearing Blaster then spray brake cleaner into the bearings to clean them followed by a light application of very light oil, such as this 3 in 1 oil.
If you have some terribly crusty stuff or really want to do a deep clean on your parts and/or bearings then check out a Ultrasonic cleaner like this one which you'll be able to easily fit all of your bearings as well as many other RC parts. I have one that I use from time to time and it does a great job making parts look near new after they have been ran through the ultrasonic cleaner.
Again, remember if cleaning bearings with an ultrasonic cleaner to also oil them!
That is how I clean my RC's. Simple Green, water, and a couple rags and toothbrush. How do you guys clean your RC's?
