metal or plastic gears

Hi everayone im thinking of upgrading to a brushless 4000 kv motor for ecx amp db, do i need metal gears, will the plastic gears strip?

The plastic gears won’t last long I’d recommend the metal Gear set.

My son is still on plastic gears. Admittedly it’s a Boost buggy not a truck and running 2s on something like 3500kv.

Why not try it?

Depends how much mechanical sympathy you give your truck I suppose....

Metal trans gears for sure. Easy to install, just use a decent grease on them. You might as well change the bearings as well.

I would go with the metal gears, Losi smart diff grease and a set of Fast Eddies bearings

what about the spur gear, do i need a metal spur gear

I would stay with the plastic spur gear, they are cheap, you need some sort of a weak point
