Hey everyone new to everything RC . I got my ecx temper and I'm starting to do some mods to make it a little better crawler. So I did the battery flip and wheel weights . I have a traxxas 370 motor on the way and a bigger battery I put bigger tires on which made a night and day difference but now I'm rubbing when turning so now I need the extenders. I will let you know how the new motor fits in tomorrow.

2017-07-14 13.29.47.jpg 2017-11-01 13.00.33-1.jpg I went with these:

JunFac 51033 2.2 Wheel Widener, Offset +19mm (set of 4)

Redcat Racing AL Connect Box with Gear, 38T (2) - the stock ones are a plastic center and will round out with the 370 motor.

Vaterra VTR212026 Outdrive Slk RC Vehicle Parts (4) - the stock outdrive is short so the extenders will only catch the 1st three treads when mounting the tire/wheel assembly.

Also adding the nylon spacers (purchased at Lowes) will help with torq twist!

Hey thanks man. Yea I'm very new and trying just read and read and read as much info lol. I figured the 370 would give the extra speed I was looking for. Thanx for the advice on the gears.

The Traxxas 370 will help with the speed. The 1800 mah will help extend the runtime.

You will also need to file the holes in the mounting plate as the holes in the 370 motor are farther apart.

Add 4-wheel steering and you can do awesome donuts!

I don't have a part number. They are made by Hillman and measure 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD x 1/2" length, or 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD x 5/8" length.
I found both sizes at Lowe's, but Home Depot or Menard's might carry them also.

Today I flipped the ecs and cleared off the top of battery holder and got the new speedpack 7.2v 1800 mag battery on it. Take a look

How long of a runtime do you get out of that battery? Wanting to see how much of an increase i can get in runtime without running lipo

Just got the battery put into and havnt really got to run it yet. Waiting for weather ..... But I can say today I messed around with it a little in drive way and street to see how the new motor and battery would run . I had a solid 30 mins of just throttle and didn't notice any battery drop . I will post more towards end of week once I get some solid run time

The torque twist is killing me . I new the motor and battery wouldn't help .so until I figure what shocks to buy or the beat way to eliminate the twist I used zip ties to compress shocks more to.stiffen up. But I don't want to loose to much of my crawling capability

I 4 linked mine and turned the motor plate around which helped my torque twist. I just used some lower links and bent them.

Not a bad idea . I like that a lot .I'm order some wheel extenders I hope that helps a lot. If all fails then I defiantly will look into doing the 4 link .did you do the 4 link in the rear only ?
