Temper motor upgrades?

Just ordered a tazor 280 for the rc. Was wondering who's had experience with this motor? What's the gains and what is the install like?

easy install. just run the shaft down a file a few times to remove the splines, that and putting bullet connectors on the wires. it provides a significant speed boost.

Yay for fresh upgrades!! Ive gotta replace my rear axle housing now. Had a modified servo plate for my 4wheel steering. Only two screws in it and the 162oz/in servos managed to blow out the screw pocket on one side.

I've noticed that everyone that has done a motor upgrade seems to have gone with the tazer 280. I know being a 1/18 scale crawler that options are limited. But are there other options out there? I try to buy as much as I can locally but my closest hobby shop hasn't sold that motor in over 3 years. I'm just curious if there is anything else that people have gone with that might work that I maybe able to get local.

If you turn your motor plate around you won't have so much torque twist
