Ecx ruckus motor upgrade

I got me a ecx ruckus in February of this year. I have been running it maybe 2-3 times a week since I got it. An about a week ago, I decided to upgrade, so I ordered a goolrc 3665-3800kv motor combo.

Yesterday I got in mail, I realized that the motor shaft was way to big for the stock pinion gear, so now I have to buy a 5mm pinion gear to fit the motor. My question is, do I have to upgrade the spur gear also, and what other parts do I have to upgrade?

I consider myself a newbie in the RC world, so with your help, I'd appreciated.

You should not have to upgrade your spur gear, nor anything else but the pinion gear and only the pinion gear because your motor shaft is larger than the stock motor shaft. Otherwise you wouldn't have to upgrade it either.

Also make sure that your pinion is the same pitch of your spur or you will have problems. If it's ECX it is 48pitch.

O yeah, motor installed on my ECX Ruckus, and bigger wheels installed. It's been running so fast, even with big/wide tires.
