Worth upgrading ECX AMP to metal parts?

Well I upgraded the amp, sorted the spur problem, however now the little beast goes so fast, I lost the battle with a 1:1 car wheel and I smashed the front end ???

My question is.... is it worth getting metal parts or sticking to the standard plastic?42E2665D-52F2-4142-BA15-073999AFC9B0.jpeg5F463C0D-4BE4-45EC-8D1F-5B2602FE9A06.jpegB5DA7695-7AF5-4968-B381-549E84436102.jpeg

Depends on what your willing to spend. If you do aluminum arms up front and you smash them again that's $25 to replace alone. If you did aluminum steering knuckles that's another $22. I run aluminum steering knuckles because the stock ones back out the shoulder screws and RPM arms. Get a T-Bone Bumper.

RcTat, I have an ECX Amp, in fact it was my first rc vehicle. It has become one my favorites. It's been totally upgraded and clocked at 65 plus. I do a lot racing, bashing and jumping and its pretty darn tough. It's a great vehicle once upgraded. There is still some things I want to do to it such as upgrading the push-in hinge pins to screw in. I did my ECX Axe and Torment and it's great, takes out all the sloppiness in the suspension arms.

That looks an absolute beast mate ?

Personally I keep the aluminum on the shelf queens and run RPM plastics on my drivers. RPM plastics are manufactured to much tighter tolerances and the plastic will flex back after impact rather than bend. And because it flexes, plastic is also easier on the next weakest point where aluminum is so stiff that it transfers that impact through the rest of the truck. It may not look as sexy but it’s much more forgiving in a crash and much lighter if that’s your thing. You could also outfit your whole truck in RPM for what you’d pay for f/r control arms.

Just my 2 cents

What is the clearance like on the rear axles to the camber turnbuckles? I picked up the traxxas turnbuckles but with the stock rear axles, they run the screw holding the turnbuckle to the frame.
