3 cell LiPo in 2wd Ruckus?

Can i run a 3cell in a 2wd ruckus with a 5xl traxxas esc?

Platform doesn't matter as much as the esc and motor.

That esc is not rated for a 3cell or 3s battery, I would not bother.

On some ESC you can upgrade the fan to a 12volt fan. that will allow you to be able to run a 3s lipo. Reference your model. And you'll know if it is able to upgrade

I just looked this up. You can not run a 3s. Max voltage for that esc is 9.6. Anything more it will burn up.

I run 3s in my ruckus all the time actually my preferred battery for the car. If you run 3s you shouldnt do anything with a motor over 3300kv or you will be flying like a bird at 50mph witch will blow up and destroy your tires.

3s is the bomb in my 2wd. Can't wait to get my 4x4 and slam a 3s in there

You have to spec your motor and esc with a 3 cell. Look it up and make sure it's compatible. Typically the lower the KV the higher cell count it will take, but it also has to do with the amperage your esc can handle. I still don't know why they call c rating a c rating and not just amp burst, because that's what it is.
