Is there any aluminum parts out for the ruckus? Id like to get shock towers, casters and suspensions arms for my ruckus.:)

If you look under the "Option Parts" heading on the ECX webpage you will find all the upgrades ECX makes for the Ruckus. This includes several aluminum parts.

Be careful where you put the aluminum parts on your rig. Just blinging it out with a lot of aluminum parts makes for a very heavy and actually very fragile truck. Personally I'd never do aluminum A arms. Castor blocks or steering hub sure thing, but the arm takes so much abuse the flexible nature of plastic just is better suited.

I totally agree, these ECX R/C's take punishment beyond believe, another point of the aluminum is that will transfer the force of impact to the next in line, usually this means more costly repairs.
IMO i will suggest if you want to do any upgrades stay plastic and use parts from RPM. on the other hand if it is a show truck, fire at will! LOL

Yeah, I'll also vote for going with the RPM parts over aluminum. Aluminum doesn't flex like plastic. When it DOES bend, it stays that way and there's no (safely) bending it back. I agree, Al parts DO look nice, but sadly aren't very practical for an off-road vehicle.

If you have the 2WD Ruckus, check out my post in the Boost forum about the RPM caster blocks and spindle blocks. Very nice parts and a definite improvement in steering!

Yeah I'm another for the rpm brand. Get the aluminum caster blocks and the bearing carers. Leave the driveshafts plastic as well as the a arms.

Well I would say get the ecx metal shafts. They are cheep and strong

I dont trust the metal shafts on a basher. They will bend. The drive shafts take a real besting if you're doing the damage to the truck that I do. Lol I'd probably Bend them the first jump

I tried some Hot Racing metal shafts, the weak spot was not the dog bone, cv joint or shaft, it was the drive cup. I wore it out after only a hand full of batteries. Rounded out the slot where it meets the dogbone. SECT288

Gambled on a second version and am having good success thus far : p/n SECT288M06

I got tired of replacing the plastic shafts but like others have posted I keep the most plastic on the chassis as possible to absorb crash energy. The steering arms are the other obvious weak link.

My upgrades are done only as the frequency of breakage dictates. One exception, my original plastic gear differential made it 4 months running 3300kv motor on Lithium packs but given the work needed to take it apart the metal gear went in straight away.

All things considered this is a fantastic RC vehicle, I bought 2 and it spawned my brother in law to buy 3 more, now we have a racing family on weekends, it's a hoot :)

Nice! Love the family weekend racing. I got into it for something to do with my lil nephew at the campgrounds and now we are building a monster jam type course in the back yard.

How many packs do you have on the second hot racing driveshafts so far? I've looked at them a few times. I need metal steering, metal caster blocks and bearinf carriers.

I ordered the hot racing 87 tooth steel spur and it destroyed my pinion. Lol. (Need hardened steel pinion) I destroyed the plastic gears in my trans because I had the break turned up to high and a few lock ups on pavement took care of that.

that's the way it seems to go, beef up one thing and break another as the week link move along the chain.

it's fun though, i enjoy working on the buggies.

Have maybe a dozen 4000mAh runs on the new ones, just unscrewed the aluminum cover to check and they look as good as new :

Sweet! May have to get a pair in the next month or so. I have a new set of the plastic ones so I'll try to order before they break. I need to do the aluminum casters and bearing carriers with it as well

For my link arms I use traxxas rustler links. Because one, they are the right length and two, they are metal and strong.

Go RPM or at least check it out first. What I have on mine I just upgraded to bearings instead of the bushings
